DESCRIPTION:Casa de Amistad invites the Athens community to its third annual Our Casa Es Tu Casa\, a day-to-night celebration of Casa de Amistad\, Athens’ Latino community\, and the neighbors\, families\, volunteers\, and partners who make Casa’s work possible! \nThe event will begin with a daytime community market from 1:00–6:00 p.m.\, featuring local vendors and makers. With Georgia football taking on Oklahoma in Athens that day\, the market offers an opportunity to start game day by connecting with neighbors and local businesses before heading out to enjoy the game. Families and community members can shop\, enjoy food and drinks\, and discover local shops and artists. A children’s activity table will also be available throughout the market. \nBeginning at 7:00 p.m.\, the event will shift into Latin Dance Night\, with Salsa Pasión\, a local salsa dance and performance group\, leading a beginner-friendly dance lesson followed by open dancing. \nThroughout the day and evening\, guests will have opportunities to learn more about Casa de Amistad and its programs\, meet the people behind the organization\, and celebrate the community Casa serves. A raffle and silent auction will feature contributions from local businesses and community partners\, with additional details to be announced. \nOur Casa Es Tu Casa is more than a fundraiser. It is an opportunity for the broader Athens community to experience Casa de Amistad’s work and celebrate the connections that make that work possible. Casa de Amistad empowers the Latino community and neighbors across Athens and Northeast Georgia through education\, connection\, and community-centered programs. \nEveryone is welcome.
